Every Monday Night
Upwey Baptist,
Cnr Darling Ave & Burwood Hwy, Upwey
6:30pm: Dinner is served
5:00pm: Cuppa and chat
Since 2015, Upwey Community Meal Nights have been held every Monday night (except in January) at the Upwey Baptist Church, corner Darling Ave and Burwood Hwy, right opposite the Upwey Railway Station.
We usually have around 80 people coming along and sharing a meal, a laugh, and a chat together, in a safe and positive atmosphere.
Our doors open at 5.00pm, come in for a cuppa, a snack and and chat. Our home cooked main meals are served at 6.30pm followed by a delicious dessert.
Our meals are free: not because they cost us nothing, but because your gift is simply coming. For those who would like to contribute we do have a donation tin available on the night, and many people get involved in setup and clean up afterwards.
No need to book, just turn up. We would love to see you there.
Our nights rely heavily on a team of committed volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, please go to our volunteers section.
Upwey Community Meal Night is a partnership between Foothills Community Care and Upwey Baptist Community Church.

What we provide for our guests

A free meal & desert
A home cooked delicious main meal is served along with a fresh dessert. We believe that meals should be healthy and nutritious and to that end we cook our meals on the night using fresh ingredients.

Food to take home
Often we have meals from the night to “take away” to be reheated afterwards. We also have fresh fruit, vegetables, bread and eggs available to give away at the end of the night, courtesy of our friends at Second Bite.

A friendly envornment
We aim to provide a safe and positive welcoming environment for people to enjoy their meal. We believe everyone should be treated with dignity and respect. To this end we will not tolerate any acts of violence or verbal abuse directed towards anyone. and perpetrators will be asked to leave.
